We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Pet Care Products Manager with a Veterinary background to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your veterinary expertise to manage our pet care product offerings and ensure the highest standard of quality and suitability for our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Product Selection and Procurement:
- Utilize your veterinary knowledge to select the right assortment of pet care products, including food, nutritional supplements, and medications, based on their quality, effectiveness, and suitability for various animal needs.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to ensure a reliable supply of high-quality products.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and regulatory requirements to ensure our product offerings are in line with the latest standards and best practices.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify new product opportunities and consumer preferences.
- Product Management and Quality Control:
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of pet care products, from inventory management and warehousing to expiration control.
- Work closely with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery and efficient distribution of products.
- Implement robust quality control measures to ensure that products meet safety standards and comply with regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor product performance, gather customer feedback, and collaborate with suppliers to address any quality or performance issues.
- Sales and Marketing Strategy:
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and implement effective strategies for promoting and selling pet care products.
- Provide veterinary insights and expertise to create compelling marketing materials and educational resources for customers.
- Support the sales team by conducting training sessions and providing product knowledge to enhance their selling capabilities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Higher education (in veterinary medicine, medicine or business administration)
- Proven experience in a product management or related role within the pet care or veterinary industry.
- In-depth knowledge of pet care products, including food, supplements, and medications, and their application in veterinary medicine.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards for pet care products.
- Excellent analytical and research skills to assess product efficacy and market trends.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills to convey complex veterinary information to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
